With the complete cast list and director released from the main studio's news, it's no surprise for us to see Goldmine Killers will be the next film from us. Though it's not produced by Grand Island, only written by our head cheese, Josh Collins. We are excited to see how this film which borrows elements of the classic film noir(and Neo-Noir) sits well with audiences and critics.
With a name like Angelina Jolie coming hot from her GMA buzz in last season's Tender Is The Night, we are confident that her name alone will bring in the dough. Jaoquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, Val Kilmer and Djimon Honsou play the men in on Angie's game. They all have their own agendas, willing to accept Angie's dangerous bounty. They might just be pawns to do her dirty work. Neither of them know of the other. She promises each one an even 50/50 split of the fortune, while giving them sexual treats to help seal the deal. As the film goes on, the lies and deceit will come out. Angie may very well be digging her own grave.
Our heroes are Adrien Brody and Emily Blunt. Grown kids who suspect the stepmom almost as old as them to be up to something. Their father, Alan Arkin is the wealthy man whose life is at stake. Naturally, he doesn't believe his kids and think they're just jealous because they never approved of him marrying someone so much younger than him.
With nobody left to turn to, it's up to Adrien and Emily to save their dad and stop Angie and her hitmen. But with the lies and empty promises, Alan's kids may not be the only ones Angie would have to worry about.
CHARACTERS:
Angelina Jolie: The trophy wife who sets up the hitmen to kill her husband for his wealth.
Alan Arkin: The man in question of being murdered by his trophy wife. He's a wealthy man who loves his children, but wishes they would accept Angelina into the family. He hopes that taking them out of the will would knock some sense into them.
Adrien Brody: The older, wiser sibling of the heroes. He's the one who first suspects his father might be killed. It takes him a little bit of work to get his sister's help. But when he does, he's caught in an intense dangerous labyrinth. Everyone is out to get everyone else where loyalties are always tested.
Emily Blunt: The younger daughter of Alan, sister of Adrien. She lost a lot of trust and respect for her dad marrying a woman like Angelina. At first she really doesn't care what happens to her dad, and the news of being written out of the will makes her even more angry at him. But her brother convinces her to join him in taking Angelina down and getting their dad to see the wicked witch she is.
Jaoquin Phoenix: The youngest of the hitmen. Being used by Angelina as a pawn to carry out her murder plot. He's a gun-weilder with dreams of taking the money and running away to live with Angie. He met Angelina in college and started sleeping with her behind Alan's back.
Mark Ruffalo: The knife-weilding family man. He is no longer married, but is also seeing Angie behind Jaoquin and Alan's back. He only wants to get a share of the money so that he can raise it to help his ex-wife and their kids with any financial problems they may ever run into.
Djimon Honsou: His weapon of choice is strangling. Angelina finds him homeless on the streets. He has no love, no family. With the money Angelina is offering to split, what homeless man wouldn't be crazy enough to take the cash. He too is getting action with Angie on the side behind everyone's back.
Val Kilmer: Weapon of choice are mostly blunt objects such as baseball bats, golf clubs, hammers, etc. A political failure with dreams to be a state senator. He's under the impression that money brings power and eventually his dreams would become a reality. Angelina wants to make those dreams come true. He's the oldest of the hitmen, and perhaps the most manipulated by her.
